The only people who cannot be hypnotized are the mentally ill, such as uncontrolled schizophrenia and mania, the mentally retarded, people who are not able to concentrate.

We are all hypnotized at times and don't realize it. Did you see the first Alien movie? When you think about that movie, does the alien popping out of the man's chest first come to mind? You were hypnotized at that part of the movie. Another theatre example, when suddenly the theater gets quite, no coughing, no fidgeting or talking, everyone is hypnotized.

Haven't you even driven on a long straight highway and suddenly you realize you have traveled a longer distance than you thought? You became hypnotized.

Hypnotism is only a deeper state of concentration. If you cannot concentrate, you cannot be hypnotized.

Hypnotism is a very broad term. There are many stages of hypnosis.
Many of us can self hypnotise ourselves.
The mere thought/idea of an object can cause a muscular movement sufficient to produce a reflexive, or automatic, contraction or movement of the muscles involved.
Example..the idea of sucking a lemon can automatically stimulate salivation, a secretory response.
...driving a car without recollection of the road past is only a shift in concentration/consciousness, not a lack of.
When I commuted to work over the same road year after year I called it my Auto-Pilot.
It didn't work in traffic but was great on the open road. It never got me in trouble.
