Repost from April 9, 2009 Ten of us from our Monthly dinner group dined at Hacienda Ajijic Steak Place tonight. Some of us knew Jorge the owner. I met him tonight. We also met Omar. Both were very nice and accomodating. This is the first time I have dined there, but what a beautiful change in decor.
The waiters came over with 3 plates of chips, a chunky salsa and two other salsas. They were mildly spicy. Myself and my friend ordered Iced Tea. Several others ordered Margaritas and said they were good.
Two of us ordered Aztec soup, one ordered Mushroom soup, while another orderd Argentinian Sausage. The Aztec soup was a bit spicy, but good. The Cream of Mushroom soup tasted salty. I wouldn't order it again. The person who ordered Argentinian sausage said it was delicious and passed samples around the table. It was a large appetizer. It was "delicious".
We all had different entress. A few of us had Filet Mignon. You could order it with either with a black pepper or in red wine. I ordered the one in red wine sauce which was tender and extremely tasty. It came with baked potato and bacon and some sauteed peppers. Very, very good with a nice flavor. My friend ordered Shrimp Diablo, but asked for no spice. It came with rice and an abundance of brocolli, carrots and cauliflower. Another good dish.
Two others ordered the Special, a Lamb Arrachara. I didn't see what came with it. They said it was good. Another person ordered Rabbit and liked it very much. He is a very fussy eater and knows his food well.
All we can say is all the food was enjoyable. The waiters were very, very attentive. We highly recommend and will return. It is NOT part of a chain restaurant.
