8:50 AM bum egg or dead chick on side of mom. Can't tell, don't know if chicks are white.

edit...if you go to http://www.hancockwildlife.org/staticpa ... 0118150553 and click on Discussion Forum it seems like what we see on the Sydney nest is the empty egg shell. The chick is still under Mom.

11:22 am Mom eagle is feeding two chicks this morning.

2:12 PM You can now tell by her posture that she is keeping the chicks under her wings and not laying on them.

This ended badly. The baby eagle got tangled in the mother's wing feathers and was choked. She tried desperately to free the little guy, horrified onlookers couldn't help. She eventually flew from the nest and he dropped to the ground - but it was too late.

Shouldn't be too long now that the three young ones will be leaving the nest.
