Dolores Hidalgo is the birth place of the Mexican revolution, Talavera pottery and crazy ice cream. The Santuario Atotonilco was the second town in Miguel Hidalgo's march toward independence

Beautiful pottery. I'm glad I not near by or I'd buy too much pottery.

Having never been to that area, we are allocating 4 days or so to explore this region in late August. We do have a meet set up with one shop/manufacturer: Mexhapati. The owner of that business has recommended the Hotel Posada Hidalgo and Restaurant Plaza. Any observations or comments, Sparks?

Only that San Miguel is less than an hour away and Guanajuato probably an hour and a half. Very little in Dolores except the ceramics and ice cream
