Here you go Bob, I'm sure you can put the old Baghdad spin on this so it will all make sense and I won't have to worry.

Barack Obama sees worst poll rating drop in 50 years
The decline in Barack Obama's popularity since July has been the steepest of any president at the same stage of his first term for more than 50 years.

Here you go, Mr. Echo. The Republicans have it worse:

"The Post-ABC News poll this week found that only 20 percent of adults identify themselves as Republicans, the lowest single number in Post-ABC polls since 1983. Only 19 percent had confidence in congressional Republicans "to make the right decisions for the country's future." Even congressional Democrats got 34 percent on that question, and Obama scored 49 percent."

stevie boy, you cannot control reality here on this board. You may be able to do it in your sock drawer, arranging and rearranging stuff. So if you can't handle it, go back to your sock drawer.

I know it's off rant... but, speaking of Bagdad...

Has anyone noticed that Iraq is barely a blip on the radar lately?...

Sooo... did we win... lose... or just lose interest?

Isn't there an election coming up there soon? I imagine its like watching a little kid, rolling out on their bike, wobbling along. Not sure if it will end up in tears or giggles. Sort of like a night out with Speeedy? We already know a night out with Steevey would end in tears - tears of boredom, one can only listen to his sock stories so many times.

The ironic part? I would bet Barack Obama would be elected President of Iraq if he was offered on the ballot!

On the Canadian political news today (slightly more interesting than Steevies sock drawer), a political pundit said that the Conservatives are now following, almost exactly, the policies of the Obama Democrats, and it is paying off for them big time in keeping the 'middle' vote.

You guys need to get a life beyond politics, the door has been open since I arrived here, I've met and enjoyed some great people here with open minds, the door is always open if you can get beyond your prejudices. Most folks are very interesting if/when you get beyond their blinders and preconceptions.

Interesting you say that when you post things such as.....

Here we are at the magic 100 days; seems a lot longer but I digress. So, just to check in and let you know I'm watching quietly from the sidelines. I'll assume that about 98% of you are still in hog heaven over the careening rush to Socialism. We'll watch and document for another 100 days and see how that goes.

As a few of your remember I originally had a bet or agreement with Tenista that I'd give the new administration 100 days to cure all the world's problems - as was promised during the campaign - before commenting. Rather than get into long boring detail I'll simply direct you to http://360west.com/Documents/NObamachronicles.htm in case you may have forgotten some of the details during this heady time. We'll continue to watch and document and see what there is to see at day 200 which is about August 8th and see if you're still in love.

Just as a note the daily presidential approval tracking poll today stands at +5, it's been as high as +30 and as low as +2 http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

And the vast majority of your posts here have been in Politics, Economy and Pathology of the Planet.

So when will you practice what you preach?

And I stand by my proposition that America's current negative mood holds true not only towards the administration and the Democrats, but moreso for the Republicans themselves. As the conservative (ie Rupert Murdoch owned) WSJ points out:

"In fact, disapproval of the Republican Party actually has ticked upward, along with the public's general pessimism. Asked which political party should control Congress after next year's midterm elections, Democrats now hold a clear edge over the GOP, 46% to 38%, a month after the Republicans were nearly as popular. In September, the Democratic edge was 43% to 40%."

http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budget ... oesnt-gain

My personal take on that situation: the extreme right rhetoric and actions (teabaggers, Beck, Limbaugh, etc.) have been attributed to the GOP. The GOP itself is perceived as the party of NO. Therefore, Americans see the GOP as part of the problem, not the solution.

bolding for emphasis...

My issue, as I am a 'conservative', is government over intervening in things that are not historically required for them to be there. Frankly I think, both social security and health care has way too much government control in it. The things they pay for are good in of themselves, but it there is no way it is sustainable at the current costs. The way I see this is, what the 'conservatives' and the 'conservative' movement is and should be about.

Everybody would love for health care to be totally free, I just don't think it will happen as soon as predicted .True conservatives believe that government should stay out of what it is not needed in for the sake of economic freedom, and that where it should and must intervene should do so in a fiscally responsible manner.!!!!!

Conservatives are willing to help out our fellow citizens to a point, but when you propose more permanent, and more expensive expenditures by taxing us overworked, overtaxed and underpaid pissed off people , and what we consider unnecessary, bureaucracy taking greater and greater amounts of our hard earned income when we can barley keep our heads above water as it is, to pay for those we see as fiscally irresponsible lazy, slackers who have been in the gravy train system and raising a whole generation of like minded bums.... We can’t help but feel resentment anger and hostility!!. You are taking more than we can give or want to give........Enough..........I guess I will get off my soap box now!!! That expresso is working!!! :o
