Rush Limbaugh made his money in the business of divisive politics. He’s one of the most successful modern-day pundits, and as he found bigger audiences the more entrenched and outspoken he became....

.....Making a fortune through division will ultimately divide Limbaugh right out of the NFL.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

Enough owners have privately told Yahoo! Sports’ Jason Cole that they will not support Limbaugh’s ownership bid. At least one, Indianapolis Colts’ owner Jim Irsay, has publicly expressed his opposition....

....So a group of almost exclusively white, almost exclusively conservative men – many of whom no doubt share Limbaugh’s political views and even listen to his radio program – are turning their back on the host.

So, this time, it doesn't pay to be a wingnut (can I still use this word, sparks?).

And this from a league that welcomed back a convicted dog fight promoter and brutal killer.

As seen in this mornings cartoons: "Stupid is a condition, Ignorance is a choice" - take your pick as to which one is driving this smear campaign.

No one is really running a smear campaign. Rush does not need help on that front. "He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword".

We'll see, he's considering legal action against some of the media quotes, read it and weep.

Smoke and mirrors....going after the "media". What will that prove other than he has money to burn.

"Limbaugh has long been a hero of conservatives and villain to the left, thriving on his place in the political spectrum while establishing himself as one of the most successful broadcasters in history. But the NFL tries to avoid controversy, as Limbaugh learned in 2003 when he was forced to resign from ESPN's Sunday night football broadcast after saying of Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb: "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well."

"Divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about," commissioner Roger Goodell said. "I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL."

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/rave ... 4131.story

If he were serious, he'd go after Irsay of the Colts:

""I, myself, couldn't even consider voting for him," Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said at the owners meetings. "When there are comments that have been made that are inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive ... our words do damage, and it's something that we don't need."

"He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword".

Also, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." The Bible says so, so it MUST be true! No? Lizzy

There is no question in my mind that Rush's divisive nature is his 'karma coming back to bite him in the you know what"! That exclusive club of good ole white guys simply don't want anything upsetting their gold mine. The same would be true if Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson were included in a new prospective ownership group.

Lets have some fun here and imagine Rush as the new owner of the Rams. Imagine for a moment that all the black Rams players don't come to play their hearts out every given Sunday because they can't have loyalty for such an owner. Imagine this goes on for a few years until Rush cleans house and recruits an all white team, simply because he can't get any black guys to play for him.

I'm sure he'll have a great quarterback, center, punter and kicker. What else would he have? Imagine all the black (and many white) players from all the other teams itching to not only win, but to destroy his team each and every game.

Wouldn't that be sumpin'.

First, unbeliebably racist, next, which planet are you living on, next, get over it, that is garbage from years ago and if you can prove a single Rush racist statement or action I'll sent you $500p.

You are continuing a racist smear campaign which you have no substantive facts to coorborate. Next, to even start down this road questions your intellect as well as your motive. Finally, anyone who believes that in today's corporate league ownership that there is anything by profit minded motives is naive beyond age 6.

I believe that covers the subject to your level of understanding, I could go further, but don't want to strain your ability to comprehend the world we live in.

It was announced late this afternoon that Rush was dropped from the proposed ownership group on sports talk radio. Interestingly, the St Louis Rams are not up for sale at this point in time. However, it appears that both they and the Raiders may be in contention to repeat the 0/16 record achieved by the Lions last year.
