Back in the 70's, I worked for K2 Ski Co. (based on Vashon) and their subsidiary JanSport (based in Everett). The two companies were in turn owned by Cummins Diesel. In 1975, Cummins sold both companies to three guys (aka Seattle Business Mafia) that were the original owners of Ste. Michelle. The money used to purchase us came from them selling out to one of the tabacco companies.

K2 was my first set and second of plastic skis and got plastic boots to match. JanSport is my favorite school packpack for kids in Mexico. Seattle's been home since early '70's
