Six of us from our Bi Monthly Dinner group went to Hacienda Ajijic tonight. I had the Filet Mignon with red wine sauce. You can get it with mushroom, pepper or red wine sauce. I ordered it medium rare and it was perfect, tender and juicy. It came with a buttered Baked potato with bacon bits and parsley and fried peppers. The Filet was one of the largest I have seen at Lakeside, about twice the size of Tango and approx the size of Bruno's baseball Filet. It put Bruno's baseball Filet to shame in tenderness and flavor and made Ajijic Tango's filet look small. I'm now sold on Hacienda Ajijic instead of Ajijic Tango.

Other friends ordered: Salmon which came with rice and veggies. Another ordered Lamb Arrachara with potato and veggies. Another person ordered Lamb Ribs with potato and veggies. A friend ordered Shrimp Diablo and asked for it not to be too hot. They did a perfect job, not too spicy. It came with rice and veggies. The rice was super moist.

One couple had never eaten at Hacienda Ajijic before and are now sold on the restaurant. This was our third time there. Everyone said the food and drinks were excellent as well as the service. Omar, the Manager was our waiter. He is a really nice person who speaks perfect English. The Filet Mignon and Shrimp Diablo with 1 cocktail, 2 soft drinks was $ 309. pesos.

We highly recommend Hacienda Ajijic Steak Place on the carretera in Las Flores Plaza. 766 4906. I give Hacienda Ajijic a 5 star rating when compared to other Ajijic restaurants.

Ten of us from our Monthly dinner group dined at Hacienda Ajijic Steak Place tonight. Some of us knew Jorge the owner. I met him tonight. We also met Omar. Both were very nice and accomodating. This is the first time I have dined there, but what a beautiful change in decor.

The waiters came over with 3 plates of chips, a chunky salsa and two other salsas. They were mildly spicy. Myself and my friend ordered Iced Tea. Several others ordered Margaritas and said they were good.

Two of us ordered Aztec soup, one ordered Mushroom soup, while another orderd Argentinian Sausage. The Aztec soup was a bit spicy, but good. The Cream of Mushroom soup tasted salty. I wouldn't order it again. The person who ordered Argentinian sausage said it was delicious and passed samples around the table. It was a large appetizer. It was "delicious".

We all had different entress. A few of us had Filet Mignon. You could order it with either with a black pepper or in red wine. I ordered the one in red wine sauce which was tender and extremely tasty. It came with baked potato and bacon and some sauteed peppers. Very, very good with a nice flavor. My friend ordered Shrimp Diablo, but asked for no spice. It came with rice and an abundance of brocolli, carrots and cauliflower. Another good dish.

Two others ordered the Special, a Lamb Arrachara. I didn't see what came with it. They said it was good. Another person ordered Rabbit and liked it very much. He is a very fussy eater and knows his food well.

All we can say is all the food was enjoyable. The waiters were very, very attentive. We highly recommend and will return. It is NOT part of a chain restaurant.
