got up this am and screen was black. Able to see icons by shining light on screen. Got a remote monitor hooked up and set as primary, so it still functions. Whaddya think?

Yes Arbon, you might be on to something, or he needs a new screen. A new screen might cost as much as a new laptop. I ordered a netbook, a red Acer 11.5", 1 GB memory, 160 GB HD, camera, etc., for $269. Can't beat the netbooks and it weighs under 3LBS

:shock: I had exactly the same thing happen to me this morning... only It was my cars windshield that was completely black.... Then I got out and wiped 4 inches of snow off and it was all better....

Those little sugar donuts can't help .... but the external monitor works. Unless the laptop is still under warrenty I'd stick with an external flatscreen .... and pickup an external mouse and keyboard while yer at it
