You got me.. I found the news on a Mexican news site..then looked to see what Bloomberg had to say.

The other site (Mx) had same headline.. I would investigate further but I have to get ready for work. Maybe Sparks will weigh in...

Walmart announced Wednesday that it will offer monthly plans of 1,000 minutes for $30. For $45 per month, Walmart is offering 1,000 minutes plus unlimited text and mobile Internet.

The Bentonville-based retail giant says the average mobile phone bill is $78, and Walmart is hoping it's lower-priced plans will attract customers, just in time for the holidays.

Last summer, Walmart tested the Straight Talk plan in 234 stores.

Walmart will sell several phones that will work with Straight Talk, including an entry-level LG flip phone for $39.98 and a Samsung keyboard phone for $99.88.

The 1st article I read was on a Mexican news website. After carefully rereading the article, I jumped the gun..I thought is was pertaining to Walmart MX. I was in a hurry and on my way to work..My apologies..

If you're talking at http://www.thenews.com.mx they often post USA articles. I've been fooled many times by what their title it. Gets very annoying, but I hear they are down for the count so expect that resource to disappear soon.
