I once got a Mexican bird book from the library, never got around to buying it. It was written by a British team, I believe. Anyway, hundreds of birds were described, but the researcher was raving about a particular songbird, a rather plain looking specimen, from the cloudforest. What made it distinctive was its beautiful call, if I remember, it was described as "ethearal". This is how it found its way in the mists. I don't know the name, and they are protected, but regularly sold at pet markets - has anyone heard anything like this?

It might be this one Brown Backed Solitaire?

I know it well, it's the clo-clo bird; it's song is clo-clo- cloudy out here.

Closely related to the Canadian Ki-Ki bird that sings ki-ki-ki-ryst it's cold out here.

Funny wyknot .... but do you know fishing knots as well

That site has a link to a Mexico bird database but when I tried it all the links were empty. Maybe just a temporary database problem. I'll try again later
