I once got a Mexican bird book from the library, never got around to buying it. It was written by a British team, I believe. Anyway, hundreds of birds were described, but the researcher was raving about a particular songbird, a rather plain looking specimen, from the cloudforest. What made it distinctive was its beautiful call, if I remember, it was described as "ethearal". This is how it found its way in the mists. I don't know the name, and they are protected, but regularly sold at pet markets - has anyone heard anything like this?
It might be this one Brown Backed Solitaire?
