My friend in CA. sent me 2 bottles of Viognier and Nebbiolo from the L.A. Cetto Winery. Boy, was I surprised just how "wonderful" these two wines are! And the cost of these Mexican wines? US$15.00.According to her, their private reserve Nebbiolo is one of the best values in the world for US$15.00. :o

Here is some info additional info:

Founded by an Italian, Angelo Cetto, history says that Cetto started the wine business in 1930, bought a number of small wineries in the 1980, and now he is responsible for more than half of the country’s wine. Cetto cultivates 2,500 acres of vineyards in Baja California; also tequila and olive oil. The winery has a nice outdoor tasting area to enjoy the wine.

L. A. Cetto is one of the most renowned and oldest wineries in Mexico. In addition to the vineyards, L. A. Cetto offers gardens, a picnic area, wine tasting room, tours and they also have a tasting boutique in Ensenada. Today, with more than 75 years of tradition and quality, L. A. Cetto are without doubt one of the most important wineries in the Mexican industry; a total of 132 obtained international prizes in France, Italy, Spain, England, Canada and the United States. L.A. Cetto is the Mexican winery recognized internationally; with awardse from more than 25 countries. Their wines are a sample of the quality and the certainty of the Mexican vitivinicultura, tribute to the art to make good wine.

L.A. Cetto wines are available at PAZ. The Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc are excellent.

There are often wine articles on Mexidata.Info. Go to their Index page and search for 'wine'

Suddenly Woodinville (outside Seattle) has become a wine 'capital'. There's been a few wineries for 20+ years but suddenly there are 40+ specialty wineries

Seattle is not just a beer town

I think if you check you'll see that it didn't happen "suddenly." Great wines from Washington; I especially like those from Red Mountain near Yakima, and those from Walla Walla.

If you look at the link ... most of those are new and are in Woodinville. Why they decided to congregate here I don't know except Chateau Ste. Michelle has been here for years. This is about tours, tasting rooms, fairs and a few local retail stores. Yes I know about eastern Washington wineries and growers

I didn't see any new wineries listed on the Ste. Michelle site. Is there another link?

Thanks. Several are relatively new, many are not. Some are tasting rooms only. Never the less, all good, some are better. I'm a fan of DeLille myself. Do you know of Andrew Will on Vashon Island?

Nope ... this is all new to me. There was an article in the local paper and a link. Sis says this is a new phenom around here and I'm killing time twiddling my Internet thumbs. It's been over 5 years since I've spent any time in these parts
