The conspiracy theorists will be having a redemption day - a number of big changes are happening in Mexico on the premise of the triple whammy to the economy. First, changes in the constitution allowing full title anywhere in Mexico. Second, the introduction of legalized gambling, endorsed by the Catholic church. At least according to this newsletter by a Puerto Vallarta real estate agent.

I heard the same thing about a year ago that Mexico would allow full title for foriegners anywhere in Mexico including the coast and border areas.

I think the gambling is a bigger issue. With the drug cartels, the ease of laundering money through gambling and key government officials appointing licenses - its going to be a mess. Mexico is going to have to look long and hard at forming a tough gaming commission before the rot takes hold.

Read the Mexican press. These things are already dead.

They would have to dissolve Ejidos to give clear title and there's about zero chance of that happening

The property in question is "theoretically" already titled, not ejido or indigenous/communal.

But there is reported to be more than 50% of titled land in dispute.

50% of Bank Trust land (normalized) and corporate owned is in question? That's alot since 80%+ of the coast is Ejido

Just more realtor pie-in-the-sky nonsense

If it is correct that 20% of the coast is not ejido, more than 50% of that 20%, the titles are in dispute.

But it is also true with private titled land not in the restricted zone.
